We are pleased to share that our CEO, Wendy Cai-Lee, has been named one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking to Watch in 2022.
“Woman leadership has affected how we built our board, our management and our team,” Wendy said. “As a result, we are more diverse in our people, more creative in problem solving, more multidimensional in critical thinking.”
Twenty years ago, Piermont Bank’s chairwoman Julia Gouw was among the first class of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Banking. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, American Banker’s Most Powerful Women program recognizes many women leaders with strong performance. Most importantly, this list includes those who have a commitment to driving real outcomes for diversity, equity and inclusion in financial services.
She said diversity has made it easier to provide equitable financing. Piermont Bank is one of the only two multiethnic Minority Deposit Institution (MDI) in the nation. More than 50% of Piermont’s loans are made in low- and moderate-income communities and to women and minority owned businesses.
