Chief Credit Officer
Albert Sun is a commercial banking executive with over 30 years of experience in lending and portfolio management. He leads Piermont Bank’s credit administration including credit approval processes, loan policies and procedures while ensuring the overall quality of the lending portfolio. He and his team are safeguarding Piermont’s culture of prudent risk management.
Albert’s experience makes him an expert on dealing with middle market companies. His credit skills include credit analysis, underwriting, portfolio administration and loan workouts.
Prior to joining Piermont bank, Albert was the Chief Credit Officer of Grasshopper Bank. Albert joined East West Bank in 2014 as a Managing Director of Capital Markets, he later assumed the role of Chief Credit Officer. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the institution’s $30 billion loan portfolio comprised primarily of commercial and industrial and real estate loans. From 2012 to 2014, Albert served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Financing and Restructuring at GE Capital, one of the largest providers of cash flow that includes asset-based and structured loans for mid-size and large U.S. businesses. At GE Capital he led portfolio oversight for the Corporate Finance division. Albert has further experience in leadership roles at BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation, Merrill Lynch Capital, and Bankers Trust Company (along with its successor Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc.).
